How to Persuade a Product Manager
Have you ever tried to let a Product Manager know they are taking a product in the wrong direction? Sometimes it’s a poorly scoped feature; other times, the entire project doesn’t make sense anymore. What do you do if you find yourself in this position?

In my experience doing nothing, sadly, seems to be the most common response. On the surface, it seems the most logical option is to say to yourself “Keep your head down and do just the work”. But, you pay for doing nothing in the long term. Over time grievances build-up, and one day you come into work and realise you hate every minute. So what do you do?
In this post, I’m going to showcase the main tools product managers use to make and prioritise decisions. You can use these to help you constructively articulate and present the problems or ideas you encounter. At the very least, you can have a productive discussion and at best help build something with lasting impact. Either way, I promise you will be happier for having done something.
Just Give Me The Tool (TLDR)
I get it; you’re busy. Take your idea and run it through this flowchart. If you make it out the other side — congratulations. You have a strong contender for discussion.
